SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Fredrica S. Friedman & Co., Inc. accepts query letters by e-mail for both fiction and nonfiction representation. We DO NOT, however, represent poetry, plays, screenplays, children's picture books, sci-fi/fantasy, or horror.

Your query should be concise, and include a summary of your proposal or a synopsis of the manuscript, and pertinent author information, including relevant writing history, publications, your Internet presence, and your educational and employment backgrounds. If you are a fiction writer, we also request the first ten pages from your manuscript to provide its voice, style, and presentation. We ask that you keep all material in the body of the e-mail.

We receive a very large number of inquiries, and respond within six weeks. Please note that we do not return hardcopy submissions.

OTHER AGENT INFORMATION

Leslie York has a BA from Wellesley, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a Masters in English Literature from Boston College. She joined Fredrica S. Friedman after working at Oxford University Press and Macmillan in both sales and marketing.  Her experience at the literary agency and exposure to marketing means that she can evaluate work for both literary merit and commercial appeal.  She is open to new clients.
